Written especially for Gwen Verdon, New Girl in Town tells the story of Anna, a woman returning home to New York City - and hoping her past doesn't catch up with her. Although she faces obstacles, Anna finds a second chance at life and love. Verdon won her third Tony Award for her performance. Fosse was nominated for Best Choreography.

When it opened in 1959, Redhead marked star choreographer Bob Fosse's directorial debut on Broadway. The show won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Bob Fosse won his third Tony for Best Choreography, and Gwen Verdon won her fourth for playing Essie Whimple, a young woman who works in a wax museum in Victorian England. When Essie lets her imagination get the better of her and gets involved in the hunt for a murderor, hijinks ensue!
